Thanthai Periyar started this institution on 1955 at Periyar Maligai, Trichy. This is the first institution among all institutions stated by Periyar Self Respect Propaganda.

After Thanthai Periyar the Institute continues to walk confidently and successfully under the able guidance of our CHAIRPERSON MANAMIGU K.Veeramani, M.A., B.L. 

This institution takes pride in telling that it has educated more than 5000 students who work in all parts of Tamil Nadu. Many of them have been awarded by State & Central Governments.

The Institute offers two years DIPLOMA COURSE IN TEACHER EDUCATION FOR GIRLS having qualification of Higher Secondary Course Certificate. Every year 40 students are selected as per the Government order issued by the DTERT., Tamil Nadu The minimum percentage of marks is 50. Priority is given to downtrodden and socially backward wards. The wards are from all over Tamil Nadu - thus giving a cosmopolitan look to our Institute.
